| CA. Ved Jain, President ICAI along with CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal, Vice President ICAI and Dr Ashok Haldia, Secretary ICAI visited Pakistan to attend the 4th SAFA Board meeting held at Hotel Avari, Lahore, Pakistan on 4th April 2008. Coinciding with the Board meeting a SAFA conference on the theme “Value Creation by Professional Accountants” was held at Lahore on 4-5 April 2008. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan jointly organized the Conference. The Conference had a deliberation on the issues related to Regulatory Compliance, Creation of Stakeholder Value, Global Integration from Regional Perspective, Risk Management and alike. CA. Ved Jain, President ICAI was the panelist in the discussion on the Conference theme “Value Creation by Professional Accountants”. CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal, Vice-President, ICAI had also presented his paper at the Conference on the topic “ Beyond the Regulatory Compliance”. Conference marked the presence of august gathering of professionals in the region.
