| Government-to-Government Indo-UK Taskforce constituted by the Government of India on Corporate Governance meeting was held on 7th February, 2008 in London. The Indian side of the taskforce was led by Shri Anurag Goel, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The others in the Indian side of the taskforce included Shri Jitesh Khosla, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and the representatives of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Indian Bank Association and ASSOCHAM. Shri Ved Jain, President, ICAI and Shri Ashok Haldia, Secretary, ICAI represented the ICAI. The taskforce discussed various issues for cooperation and collaboration on Government-to-Government basis and on institution-to-institution basis in the areas of corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, standards in financial and Related Professions, insolvency related issues etc.

| Before the meeting of the Joint Group, the Indian Side of the taskforce met the office bearers of the INSOL International, the Chairman, Competition Commission, and the Director, National School of Government on 6th February 2008. They also met the Director General, Takeover Panel and the Chairman, Financial Reporting Council on 8th February 2008. In the meetings, presentation was made to the Indian side of the Group on the scope and functioning of the authority/body concerned. The presentation was followed by interaction with the members of the Indian side of the Group.

| In the afternoon of 8th February 2008, meeting was also held with the President, ICAEW and senior officers of ICAEW. Mr. Graham Ward, Past-President, ICAEW and Co-Chair of Indo-UK Taskforce on Accountancy was also present. The issue of Mutual Recognition Of Qualification was discussed in detail while no formal view was given then and there. |

| In the evening, a meeting also took place with the Chairman, Professional Oversight Board of Accountancy (POBA) and its senior officers. They were explained about the educational curriculum, training and other regulatory provisions in regard to ICAI qualification including the examination system. |
