| Western India Regional Council had organised the above meet for felicitating Shri. Ved Jain,the President and Shri. Uttam Prakash Agarwal, the Vice President of the Institute on taking charge of their respective positions. |

| The meeting was attended by well over 500 members and students in the open and cheerful environment of the green lawns. |
| |
| Participants included inter-alia, Past Presidents CA Vishnu B. Haribhakti and CA Mukund .M. Chitale, Central Council members from the Western Region, Past Chairmen of WIRC, Members from the Western India Regional Council and Members of the Managing Committees of the Branches in the Western Region. President and the Vice President were felicitated by all. The members reaffirmed their commitment to the cause of the profession and offered their unrelenting support to the Institute.They also assured of their full cooperation to stand by the leaders in all their endeavours for the betterment of the members and the profession. |

| The President, in his address, reiterated the main thrust of his Action Plan, i.e. Capacity building- both in terms of quality and quantity. The most significant in this area is building skills of the members in convergence with Indian accounting standards with IFRS and Information Technology. He further advised the members not to undermine their potential and contribution to the growing economy and stand up with pride to get due recognition. |

| The Vice President echoed President’s sentiments and further added that building infrastructure at the regional and branch level, i.e. own premises and computer centres for the benefit of members and students, was the foremost agenda on his priority list for the year 2008. |

| The programme also included Award Function for the Best Branches and Study Circles in the Western Region. The President gave away the awards to the branches/study circles and encouraged them to set higher goals and strive to achieve them. |
