1. Export of CA Services

  • Export of Chartered Accountant Services – Involving ICAI Overseas Chapters for identifying skills which an Indian Chartered Accountant should have for those markets and suggesting way forward for developing such modules to improve the scalability of Indian profession in Indian market. Such modules/studies to be initiated for Canada/Sydney (Australia).
  • Identification of Countries for export of Services, start with African Countries- Round Table Conclave with Ambassador of African Region for development of accountancy profession and in turn exploring professional opportunities.
  • Development of dedicated Web -Portal for promoting Export of CA Services connecting members in India with Chapters abroad
  • Interactive Meetings/ Programs with the Trade Consulates of Countries of Interest
  • Programs / Interactive meetings with the Stakeholders- doing Export of Services
  • Country Specific Research work/ Handbooks/ Kit Material for the benefit of members & sending the same also to all Regional Councils and Branches of the ICAI
  • Organization of the Programs on Services Export in each region
  • Promoting brand lCAl by conducting international educational events and programmes
  • Identifying international opportunities for the members.
  • Capacity building & handholding of members/firms to undertake International Opportunities

2. Representation to Regulatory/Government Authorities/Parliamentary Standing Committees:

  • To submit views/comments/suggestions/representations on the Bills/Reports/Draft Regulations/Exposure Drafts issued by various regulatory and Government Authorities and representations before Parliamentary Standing Committees from time to time/on invitation basis.

3. Coordinating with relevant authorities in India like NITI Ayog, DIPP as to what CECL & WTO Committee can do for “Start up India” and “Make in India”

  • creating awareness amongst members about expectations of Government and entrepreneurs form profession and emerging areas and skill set required and creating capacity for the same.

4. WTO Negotiations in the Accounting, Auditing & Book-keeping Services (CPC 862): To co-actively engage with Government and in particular finalizing Institute’s position on Mode 3 and exploring the way forward for audit services

5. Post–Qualification Course on International Trade Laws & WTO

  • To launch of revised Post Qualifiaction Course in ITL & WTO and other correlates like development of study materials, brochure etc.
  • To make efforts to popularize the said revised Course amongst members throughout the Country and promote the same in industry, Government and other potential user-groups in order to create professional avenues for members
  • To Organize the Classes/Sessions for the members registered under the new restructured Course
  • To explore professional avenues for Chartered Accountants and particularly for Members qualifying the Post Qualifications Courses in International Trade Laws and WTO through various means.
  • To organise Personal Contact Programmes for the members registered for the Course in order to make them eligible for appearing in the examination to be held in November 2016 under Part- I of the Course.
  • Capacity building & handholding of members/firms to undertake International Opportunities

6. Certificate Course on Anti Money Laundering Laws (Anti- Money Laundering Specialist)

  • To do Research Work in the area of Anti Money Laundering and Constitution of Special Group
  • To organize Training Programs for the Members in practice
  • To organize Training Programs for the Members in Service
  • To organize Training/ Awareness Programs for other stakeholders (employees of Various organizations)
  • Development of the Brochures/ prospectus etc. for the Certificate Course on Anti Money Laundering Laws
  • Updations in the Course Contents of the Course
  • Development of the Background Material/ Training Guides for the Course
  • Activities related to the popularization of the Course & exploration of the opportunities for members
  • Capacity building & handholding of members/firms to undertake International Opportunities
  • To maintain & to promote the ICAI Panel of Anti- Money Laundering Specialist amongst the regulatory & investigating Agencies/bodies.

7. Certificate Course on Arbitration

  • To Launch the revised and restructured Certificate Course on Arbitration
  • To prepare Technical Backgrounder for the members
  • To organize the Certificate Course on Arbitration in all regions across the country in association with the Regional Councils and its Branches
  • To organize the Two Days Advance Level Workshop on Arbitration in all regions across the Country for the participants who have already undergone the Certificate Course for updating their knowledge
  • To make efforts to popularize the above said Course amongst members throughout the Country and promote the same in the industry, Government and other potential user-groups in order to create professional avenues for members.
  • Capacity building & handholding of members/firms to undertake International Opportunities

8. Promotion of ICAI Panel of Arbitrators

  • Expanding ICAI panel of Arbitrators to High Courts and District Courts for generating more professional opportunities.
  • To initiate steps for promoting awareness through various means amongst various user bodies (National and State Chambers of Commerce, Apex Organizations, Judicial and Quasi- Judicial Bodies and Apex Regulators) about benefits of utilizing the services of the members empanelled on the ICAI Panel of Arbitrators.
  • To organise Training/Knowledge Sharing Programmes for the stakeholders in the area of ADR mechanism and role of Chartered Accountants.
  • Formulation and Constitution of ICAI Council of Arbitration
  • Revising the ICAI Rules of Arbitration

9. Workshops/Seminars/ Conferences/International Study Tour

  • Identification of Economic & Commercial Laws like Competition Act, FEMA etc for organizing Seminars/workshops/conferences on contemporary issues for creating more awareness amongst members in the field of Economic, Commercial, Arbitration, International Trade Laws and WTO in co-ordination with the Regional Councils/Branches of ICAI.
  • To organise Seminars/workshops/conferences on contemporary issues with the other concerned bodies at national and international level.
  • To organise Lecture Meetings/Seminars/conferences with various Embassies/Trade Counsulates on contemporary issues to explore business opportunities in their Countries.
  • To organise International Study Tours for the benefit of members
  • Capacity building & handholding of members/firms to undertake International Opportunities

10. Publication of Books/Background Material/Research Activities

  • To work on enabling professional opportunities of legislation which carve out role of Chartered Accountants and to come out with a hand book.
  • To prepare/develop Background Materials on the various economic, commercial, trade laws & WTO in respect of Programmes/Workshops/Seminars to be organised by the committee from time to time.
  • To bring out new publications on the technical areas in economic, commercial laws & WTO and revise the existing publications of the Committee in light of the latest amendments taking place.
  • To undertake country specific research studies for the various countries for (a) setting-up businesses in such countries; and (b) opening as professional accountants in such countries.
  • In addition to above, to conduct research (including empirical studies) on areas of relevance to Corporates and Industries Sector in view of the rapid changes taking place in the field of Economic and Commercial laws.

11. Building capabilities in Intellectual Property Laws

  • Enabling members with the knowledge of Various IPRs and exploring professional opportunities
  • Organization of various skill development Workshops in Patents, Patents Research & Drafting
  • Exploring tie ups with Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) & (Unit for Research & Development of Intellectual Projects) for vocational training in developing Practice in IPR Laws

12. Building capabilities in Labour Laws

  • Enabling members with a knowledge of Various Labour Laws and exploring professional opportunities specifically in ESI & PF
  • Awareness Programs for SME Sector (joint Programs with SME Ministry -for Industries)

13. New Certificate Courses/Training Programme: To initiate and commence new Training Programmes/Certificate Courses on the specific subjects of Economic, Commercial Laws & WTO and formulation of course curriculum, methodology and development of the study material related thereto. To make efforts to popularize the above said Courses amongst members.
