The Executive Committee at its 505th and 506th Meetings held respectively on 31st October and 12th December, 2011, inter alia, considered the following matters and took decisions/ initiatives as stated, in brief, thereunder:

The Committee approved the proposals of the Committee for Capacity Building of CA Firms and Small & Medium Practitioners to procure and upload the following on www.icai.org.in -
- Saral PayPack’ Software rebranded as ‘Payroll’ software from Reylon Softech Ltd., Bangalore;
- Software on ‘MDA ABC-P’ rebranded as ‘Billing & Accounting’ provided by MDA Software Ltd., Kanpur; and
- XBRL Software named ‘eXBace’ rebranded as ‘ICAI-XBRL’ software provided by KDK Software (I) Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur

The above software would also be made available for downloading by desirous members free of cost.

The Committee considered putting in place a General Amnesty Scheme for Members whose names stood removed on account of non-payment of membership fee with a view to facilitating such members an opportunity to restore their names, irrespective of the period of such removal, retrospectively on payment of applicable membership fee for the year during which the name was removed, and the year in which the name is restored, together with the fee(s) for the intervening year(s), if any, alongwith Form ‘9’ and the additional (restoration) fee. The Committee recommended the same to the Council. As for restoration of certificate of practice, the Committee has recommended that the same be restored/issued afresh from the prospective date, i.e., the date on which the application for the same together with Form ‘6’ and the related fee is received (in entirety).

The Committee considered the proposals received from the Continuing Professional Education Committee, Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and Internal Audit Standards Board with regard to launch of their respective e-newsletter with a view to keep the members apprised of their activities, publications, etc. Approving the above e-newsletter for hosting on the website of the Institute, the Committee recommended the same to the Council.

The Committee considered the proposal for introduction of a Certificate Course in Concurrent Audit of Banks by the Internal Audit Standards Board with a view to providing, inter alia, practical implementation guidance, and recommended the same to the Council.
The Committee considered and recommended to the Council setting up of Branches of Southern India Regional Council at Sivakasi (Virdhunagar District – Tamil Nadu) and at Kannur (Kannur District – Kerala) | |
