1. Workshop on Direct Taxes
- To update the members on the current issues in direct taxes, the Committee organised a workshop on Direct Taxes on 25.04.2009 at Indore. The same was hosted by the Indore branch of CIRC of ICAI. The programme was also a success.
- The Direct taxes Committee organised a workshop on Direct Taxes on 27.06.2009 at Salem. The same was hosted by the Salem branch of SIRC of ICAI.

2. National Seminar on Taxation
- A “National Seminar on Taxation” was organized in Kanpur on 30th May, 2009.The same was hosted by CIRC of ICAI.
- A “National Seminar on Taxation” was organized in Raipur on 27th June, 2009.The same was hosted by CIRC of ICAI.
- A National Tax convention was organized at Ahmedabad on the 1st and 2nd August, 2009. The convention was organized jointly by Direct and Indirect Tax Committees of ICAI and hosted by the Ahmedabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI.

3. Residential Workshop On Direct Taxes & IFRS
- The Committee organised a Residential Workshop On Direct Taxes & IFRS. The workshop was hosted by Trichur branch of SIRC of ICAI.

4. All India Conference On Direct Taxes
- An All India Conference was organized in Kolkata on 10th and 11th July, 2009. The same was hosted by Kolkata branch ICAI. The Conference was also a grand success.
- An All India Conference was organized in Guwahati on 19th and 20th December, 2009. The same was hosted by Guwahati branch of EIRC of ICAI

5. Workshop on Direct Taxes
- The Direct Taxes Committee organized a one day workshop on Capacity building on 18.08.09 at Madurai. The same was hosted by the Madurai Branch of SIRC of ICAI.

6. Seminar on Infrastructure and works contract Industry
- The Direct Taxes Committee of ICAI organized a Seminar on Infrastructure and works contract Industry on 21st August 2009 at Hyderabad.The Seminar was hosted by the Hyderabad Branch of SIRC of ICAI.

7. Lecture Series on direct Taxes Code Bill,2009
The Ministry of Finance released the Direct Taxes Code Bill, 2009 on 12th August, 2009. The Committee decided to organize Lecture Series all over the country in co-ordination with the Ministry of Finance to generate discussions and bring about awareness about the proposed law. Accordingly, the Lecture Series at the following places were organized which were well attended by the members at large.
- Mumbai on 29th August,2009
- Kolkata on 31st August,2009
- Bangalore on 31st August,2009
Various CBDT officials deliberated the intention of the Government in coming out with the proposed Direct Taxes Code Bill, 2009 at these lecture series.
8. A Residential Refresher Course was organized by the Direct Taxes Committee in Singapore and Mumbai from 22nd to 26th November, 2009. The same was hosted by the Indore branch of CIRC of ICAI.
