Announcement on Grant of Accounting Technician Level Certificate under the Integrated Professional Competence Course
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) vide its notification dated 2nd December, 2008 published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) dated 3rd December, 2008 has brought into force a new Scheme of Education and Training called Integrated Professional Competence Course. The proviso to sub-regulation (3) of Regulation 37C of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 which among others, brought into force w.e.f. 3rd December, 2008 provides for grant of Accounting Technician Level Certificate to specified categories of students of the Chartered Accountancy Course. The categories of students who would consequently become eligible for grant of the said Certificate are as follows : -
(a) Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination in entirety under the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 and had also completed the prescribed period of articled training including excess leave, if applicable.
(b) Candidates who have passed the Professional Education (Examination II) in entirety under the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 and had also completed the prescribed period of articled training including excess leave, if applicable.
(c) Candidates who have passed the Professional Competence Examination in entirety under the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 and had also completed the prescribed period of articled training including excess leave, if applicable.
(d) Candidates who have passed the Intermediate or first Examination under the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1949 and had also completed the prescribed period of articled training including excess leave, if applicable.
(e) Candidates who had been exempted from passing the first Examination under the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1949 and had also completed the prescribed period of practical training including excess leave, if applicable.
In order to be eligible for the grant of the Accounting Technician Level Certificate, an eligible candidate as aforementioned is, in the first instance, required to prefer an application in the format which is attached herewith. Eligible candidates are therefore advised to send in their application duly filled in and signed to the respective regional offices of the Institute, addresses of which are given below :
