The Election Code of Conduct approved by the Council strictly prohibits following on Election days:
- 1. Gatherings/assemblies of Candidates, their Representatives, and Supporters outside polling booths.
- 2. Distribution of cards, pamphlets, or any canvassing material by Candidates or their Representatives/Supporters.
- 3. Serving tea, coffee, snacks, or meals to Volunteers, Supporters, or representatives at or near polling booths.
I earnestly request all of you to adhere to these guidelines in both letter and spirit.
In previous elections, it was observed that Voters faced significant inconveniences due to the crowding and activities of candidates and their supporters at the polling booths, particularly for Senior members and the Women Voters.
I urge all candidates and their supporters to refrain themselves from gathering at polling booths or distributing canvassing material of any kind. Kindly note that video recording will be conducted outside polling booths, and any violations of the Election Code of Conduct will be dealt with strictly.
Let us all pledge to conduct these elections with the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and professionalism.
