The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) organized Convocation Ceremony on July 7, 2024, to award certificates of membership to new members and felicitate rank holders of the CA examination. The convocation was organized at 13 different locations (Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ghaziabad, Indore, Jaipur, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Chandigarh) across the country and 9821 newly enrolled Chartered Accountants received their certificates during the convocation.
The convocation commenced simultaneously across all locations. The event witnessed live addresses from the Chief Guest, Shri TV Mohandas Pai, Chairman Aarin Capital & Manipal Global Education and CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, President of ICAI from Bengaluru, and CA. Charanjot Singh Nanda, Vice President of ICAI from Delhi to all the 9821 participants at all 13 locations across the country.
While addressing the gathering at Bangalore, Shri TV Mohandas Pai, Chairman Aarin Capital & Manipal Global Education congratulated newly enrolled Chartered Accountants for achieving this tough milestone and said “You have passed one of the toughest exams in the world and are joining a profession of over 400,000 Chartered Accountants who have brought laurels to themselves, to the institute, and to the country. You are now part of a global community, with 42,000 CAs practicing outside India. As you step out of this convocation, society will look at you with respect because you are leaders, professionals, and bearers of the brand CA. You are responsible for the financial health of the nation and must ensure that trust in your attestations remains unwavering.”

He further added, “As a CA, you need qualities of both mind and heart to succeed. The most important is curiosity, to continuously learn and solve problems. Second, you must embrace and leverage technology. Third, cultivate excellent communication skills and fourth, uphold integrity in all that you do. Graduating with a CA qualification is a remarkable achievement that few accomplish. It is something very special, and we look forward to the incredible contributions you will make to our profession and our nation”
The ICAI conducts convocation twice every year to award Certificate of Membership to newly enrolled members as bonhomie to the CA fraternity. The convocation is intended to bring young members of the profession under the umbrella of the fraternity of Chartered Accountants and foster a sense of belongingness to the profession and the institute.
Addressing the newly enrolled Chartered Accountants, CA. From 1700 members in 1949 to over 400,000 members in 2024. A plethora of opportunities lies before you, extending beyond the traditional realms of auditing, accounting, and taxation. Exciting contemporary fields such as forensic accounting, sustainability reporting, insolvency and valuation, international taxation, and risk management and much more to explore.
Chartered Accountants play a crucial role in economic growth and national development. ICAI continues to nurture talent and provide vision, striving to be the best accounting body globally.
