The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Chartered Accountants – Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) on 10th September 2021 for the period of three years. The objective of this MoU is to mutually recognize the Qualification and admit the Members in good standing by prescribing a bridging mechanism between the two Institutes.
Eligibility Criteria
The members of CA ANZ or ICAI are required to have the following:
- Minimum of 5 years’ post membership with relevant work experience including a period in a senior position(s) in their career to be eligible to apply for enrolment to other Institute’s programme
- Despite the five (5) years’ post membership work experience requirement noted above, CA ANZ and ICAI will consider, on a case-by-case basis, applicants who have attained at least three (3) of the five (5) year post membership work experience requirement so long as they meet all other requirements set out in this clause 3 of the MoU, including role seniority to accept admission respectively to their Institutes
ICAI membership for CAANZ Members
- CA ANZ CAs who have qualified through the CA ANZ Chartered Accountants Program will be required to complete the relevant Indian Law, Taxation and Ethics modules of the ICAI Chartered Accountancy Course in order to be eligible for recognition as a CA by ICAI.
CAANZ membership for ICAI members
- ICAI CAs who have successfully completed the ICAI Chartered Accountancy Course must complete and pass the International Pathway Program to meet the eligibility requirements for membership admission with CA ANZ.
