CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal is a Fellow member having more than 20 years of experience and holds a Diploma in Information System Audit from ICAI. He graduated in Commerce from the prestigious Calcutta University. Besides being an outstanding practicing member, he is an Associate Member of ICSI.
He has been a member in the Eastern Indian Regional Council for two terms from 2009 till 2015 and has made valuable contributions to the members and students fraternity alike. During his Chairmanship in 2013-14, EIRC received the coveted award for the Best Regional Council.
As an avid speaker and expert on Code of Ethics, Professional opportunities, and Students Motivation, he is a regular on many a fora.
Currently serving the second consecutive term in the Central Council since 2016, he has chaired many a committees in his tenure and has many accomplishments to his credit. As a visionary techno-savvy reformist, in 2018, he Chaired the Professional Development Committee that implemented the Bank Branch Audit Software and the much acclaimed landmark reform UDIN. He also led the ICAI Group that presented the FRRB Bill before Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). Further in 2019 he became Convenor of a Group constituted to implement UDIN in all SAARC Countries.
An expert in Professional Ethics, he as Chairman of the Ethical Standard Board revised the Code of Ethics after a long gap of 10 years and implemented the New Code of Ethics considered to be the guiding light for the accounting profession.
A seasoned strategist and leader to the core, during the last year he chaired Committee on Capital Market and Investor Protection and Tax Audit Quality Review Board.
Being a responsible and respectable member of society, he is closely engaged in the activities and affairs of the Lions Club, Barabazar Library, JCI, Friends of Tribal Societies, Awantika etc.
Presently, he is Non-Executive Director at Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) India and Accounting Research Foundation of ICAI as well as an active member of Financial Reporting Review Board.
Apart from holding the Vice chair at the BOS of ICAI, he currently is the Vice Chair of Taxation Audits Quality Review Board and a member of standing committees viz. the Executive, Examination and Finance committees, and an array of non-standing committees.
