The Committee for Members in Entrepreneurship and Public Service organized a webcast on 5th June 2020 on the occasion of World Environment Day which was inaugurated by Chief Guest CA. Suresh P. Prabhu Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Prime Minister’s Sherpa to G7 and G20. The Chief Guest appreciated efforts by ICAI in Sustainability reporting and also advised to develop a system in India of giving credits for various activities like green houses, which help in reducing the emissions. He also advised to dwell upon the issues of costing of natural assets. The webcast was also addressed by CA. Praveen Garg IAS, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser , Ministry of Environment , Forests and Climate Change, Govt of India on the topic “Climate Change- Lessons from Covid Lockdown”. He dwelled upon the issues of rethinking the priorities and thought process about the Climate Change. CMA Dr. PVS Jagan Mohan Rao Immediate Past President, South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) addressed on “Paryavaranam- Vasthavik Mulyam & Creation of Real Wealth- Role of Professional Accountants”. CA. (Dr.) Sanjeev Kumar Singhal Chairman, Sustainability Reporting Standards Board also dwelled upon the initiatives taken by ICAI in Sustainability Reporting Standards and the professional opportunities for Chartered Accountants created in this area. The webcast was viewed by about 4200 viewers.

The Committee organized a webcast on “Chartered Accountants-How to Enter Civil Service for Nation Building: on 3rd May 2020. Webcast covered introduction and overview of civil service, examination pattern, syllabus, challenges faced by members in preparation of civil service and how to overcome the same. The key speakers of the webcast were CA. Mahaveer Singhvi IFS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, CA. Kirlosh Kumar IAS, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation and CA. Sarika Jain IRS, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai. The webcast was well received by members and was viewed by about 37000 members and students. During the webcast, it was proposed to introduce a training programme for students and members who aspire to enter civil services course.
